Benedictine Wrestling remained home on Friday night, hosting a Heart of America Athletic Conference Dual with No. 15 Central Methodist University.
The night started strong with a win by fall and a win by forfeit for the Ravens before the nationally-ranked Eagles gradually chipped away at the deficit and pulled away for a 37-12 win.
Jacob Campbell opened the night for the Ravens at 125 pounds earning the pin over CMU's Brian Hall. The Eagles were open at 133 pounds, which allowed Charles Easterling to earn the win and push Benedictine in front 12-0.
In one of the highly-anticipated matches of the dual, Benedictine's Christion Griggs stepped up a weight class to take on CMU's No. 4-ranked Roman Garcia at 174 pounds. Garcia scored 6 points and added another point on ride time to earn a 7-0 win over Griggs.
The Ravens return to tournament action on Jan. 24-25, traveling to Marshall, Mo., to compete in the annual Missouri Valley Invite.
