SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Benedictine Cross Country continued its season on Friday morning, competing at the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Dordt University.
The two teams finished with a pair of top 10 finishes as the (21) Raven Women placed fifth while the (RV) Raven Men placed sixth.
Friday's women's field featured (9) Dordt, (RV) Dakota State, (RV) Morningiside, (RV) Concordia (Neb.).
The Ravens were paced by Jeanna Maria Lotz, who placed 33rd in a time of 22:22. She was followed by Elizabeth Skendzel (35th), Helen Ullirch (44th), Catherine Aaron (46th), Cecilia Campos (62nd) and Josie Jansen (72nd).
Friday's men's field featured (15) Doane, (25) Dordt, as well as the rated Ravens.
The Ravens were paced by Joshua Melendez in 28th, finishing the race in a time of 25:34 while close behind Melendez was Brendan Alfonso (29th). John Joyce (48th), Will Niederee (51st), Leo Cozzi (52nd), Nick Kling (66th) and Michal Munoz (73rd) rounded out the Ravens who's finishes contributed to the final team score.
Benedictine is off this weekend, returning to action on Oct. 25 when they will travel to Ashland, Neb., to compete in the Blazing Tiger NAIA Challenge hosted by Doane.
