KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Benedictine Wrestling will open the season receiving votes as the NAIA announced the Preseason NAIA top 25 Coaches' Poll and individual rankings on Thursday afternoon.
Benedictine received 19 points in the poll and is the 15h team listed in the received votes category to open cup the 2025-26 season.
The Ravens will open the season with two individually ranked wrestlers. Coming off his first appearance in the national tournament, Christion Griggs is ranked No. 12 at 174 pounds. Jackson Perkins also earned a preseason ranking, as he will start the season ranked No. 24 at 184 pounds.
Four programs from the Heart of America Athletic Conference open the season ranked, led by defending champion Grand View University in first place with 224 points. Missouri Valley (150 points) is ranked No. 7, followed by Central Methodist (118 points) is tied for No. 12 and Baker (60 points) is ranked No. 22.
Benedictine is joined in the receiving votes category by four other full Heart members. Missouri Baptist (36 points), William Penn (22 points), William Woods (21 points) and Graceland (10 points). St. Ambrose, who competes in wrestling as an associate member, is also listed in the receiving votes category with four points.
The Ravens opens the season in Indianola, Iowa, a the Luther Hill Invite. They host the Loosbrock Duals on Nov. 7 and the Service Salute Open on Nov. 8.
