Outdoor Track sends select group to compete at UCM Relays

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – A select number of Benedictine Track & Field athletes continued their outdoor season on Friday, competing in the annual Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri.

Thomas Campbell was one of the top performers for the Raven Men, winning the 3,000 Steeplechase while hitting the NAIA B qualifying standard with a time of 9:21.06. 

Cayna Love and Helen Ullrich earned the top individual finishes, taking third place in the 400-meter hurdles and 3,000-meter Steeplechase, respectively. Mary Lorang finished sixth in the javelin, hitting the A standard again with a throw of 44.03 meters.

Women's Results:
Cayna Love - 400 hurdles - third place
Helen Ullrich - 3000 steeplechase - third place
4x100 meter relay (Maria Connealy, Cayna Love, Brynna Gormley, Addison Riley) – fifth place
Mary Lorang - discus - sixth place; javelin - sixth place

Men's Results:
Thomas Campbell - 3000 steeplechase - first place
Kevin Taylor - pole vault - third place
Ben Shonka - pole vault - fifth place
Joe Loughman - javelin - second place

Another select group of qualifiers will compete next at the annual KU Relays on Thursday this week before the Easter Holiday Break. The complete team will return to action on April 26 at the ZK Invite hosted by Baker University.
