Cole Doherty was named the Pitching Coach for the Raven Baseball program and head coach Eric Peterson in July of 2025. Coach Doherty comes to Benedictine after serving as the Pitching Coach for NCAA Div. I University of Marlyand Eastern Shore.
Coach Doherty is a native of Oak Grove, Mo., and played collegiately at both Southwest Baptist and Heart opponent Park University, where he earned a Bachelor's in Education. He also holds a Master's in Educational Leadership & Administration from Heart newcomer William Woods University.
Prior to Maryland Eastern Shore, he served in the same role at the University of Sciences & Pharmacy, St. Louis, where he helped establish the program. His collegiate coaching career started at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Ill, where he served as the program's lead assistant and pitching coach.Â
As a student-athlete at Park, he was a three-year starter for the Pirates. He was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete is ranked in the top 10 in career pitching appearances, top five in career saves, and top five in single-season saves at Park.
Coach Doherty and his wife, Gabby, have a daughter, Lainey, and are excited to be moving back home to the Kansas City area.
