Grant Palmer

Grant Palmer was named an Assistant Coach for the Benedictine College track and field program in September 2026.

Coach Palmer joins Benedictine after a successful career as a student-athlete at fellow NAIA institution Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. As a sprinter for the Raiders, Palmer was a 10-time All-Conference performer, competing in the 60, 100, 200, and 400 meters, as well as the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays. He was also a five-time NAIA National Championship qualifier and earned All-American honors in the 4x100-meter relay in 2024.

Palmer graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Exercise Science and a coaching endorsement. During his time at Northwestern, he gained coaching experience as a track and field intern and served as a team captain. At Benedictine, he works with the sprinters and hurdlers.

Palmer believes that athletes are people first and strives to support them in every area of life. His coaching philosophy emphasizes helping athletes grow not only in their sport, but also as individuals, students, and members of their communities. He hopes to make a lasting impact on his athletes both on and off the track.
