SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – The Raven men's soccer team bounced back from a 0-0 draw last weekend with a 1-0 win over John Brown University on Saturday afternoon.
Benedictine (3-1-2) outshot 20-13 and held a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal over John Brown in the win.
The Ravens lone goal was scored in the first half of the match during the 35th minute of play when Joe Sbarro (Jr., Kansas City, Mo.) hit a diving header off the post on a cross from Kenneth Clarizio (Soph., Denver).
Benedictine keeper Taylor Vinnage (Soph., Overland Park) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Ravens and finished with three saves.
The Ravens return home on Wednesday for a non-conference match up against Briar Cliff University at 7:30 p.m. at the BC Soccer complex.
Wednesday's match will be live on the Benedictine Raven Sports Network beginning at 7:15 with presume – or as soon as possible following the women's match.
