Coming off their first loss of the season, the Raven women didn't break through Sunday afternoon against Hastings College until the 82nd minute as Benedictine earned a 1-0 win at the BC Soccer Complex.
Benedictine (7-1-0) rebounded from its first loss of the season to knock off Hastings College (0-5-0) in front of the home crowd.
The lone goal of the match came from forward Tara Russell (Soph., Olathe) when she was able to break through the Hastings defense on a pass from midfielder Ashley Chandler (Fr., Kansas City, Mo.). during the 82nd minute of play.
Benedictine held a 18-10 advantage in shot which translated to a 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Raven keeper Ashley Holland (Jr., Omaha) earned the shutout in goal for the Ravens. Holland played all 90 minutes and tallied two saves in the win.
Benedictine returns to action at 5 p.m. Wednesday as they host Briar Cliff University. The match will be broadcast live on BRSN radio and BRSNtv (weather permitting) from the Perch at the BC Soccer Complex.
