Volleyball Suffers HAAC Sweep

The Raven volleyball team suffered its first sweep of the HAAC season on Tuesday night at the hands of the Avila University Eagles.

Avila (11-8, 2-2 HAAC) took the match 25-22, 25-20, 25-20, over Benedictine (5-15; 2-2 HAAC), which suffered its second straight HAAC loss.

The Ravens hit converted 12.4 percent of their attacks on Tuesday in the loss, nearly six points under their season average.

Benedictine held the advantage in kills headed into game three but Avila converted 19 kills in the match-deciding game three to finish with 44 while the Ravens finished with 37.

Outside hitter Morgan Ogorzaly (Soph., Omaha) led the Raven attack with eight kills while outside hitter Karlie Dalton (Soph., Parker, Colo.) added six kills. Middle hitter Ashley Gray (Soph., Atchison) chipped in five to round out the Ravens offensive attack.

Setters Emilee Clark (Soph., Olathe) and Sara Navinskey (Jr., Winchester) finished with 17 and 12 assists respectively.

Defensively, libber Cassie Rockers (Sr., Mound City, Kan.) tallied 10 digs as Benedictine finished with 46 digs as a team.

The Ravens return to their home floor at the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium on Friday at 7 p.m. as they host HAAC opponent Graceland University.
