ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The No. 4 seeded Raven Women's Soccer team earned a return trip to the host site of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament for the second time and two years and will take on No. 13 Campbellsville (Ky.) University at 4 p.m. at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.
Today's game will be broadcast live via the NAIAnetwork at www.NAIAnetwork.com. There is a pay-per-view cost associated with the stream at $9.95 for a single-day pass or $29.95 for the entire tournament. Live stats are also available through the NAIA-Dakstats site.
The Match Up: No. 4 Benedictine (20-1-1) vs. No. 13 Campbellsville (19-2-0), 4 p.m., Orange Beach, Ala. – Benedictine advanced to their second straight Second Round game in two years with a 2-0 win over Trinity International (Ill.) University on Nov. 21 while Campbellsville is making their first-ever trip to the Second Round after beating Ashford (Iowa) 5-0 in the Opening Round.
About Campbellsville: The Tigers got goals from five players in their Opening Round win while keeper Amanda Howard earned 13 shutout of the season in 21 games in goal this season. ... Howard ranks third in the NAIA heading into the Second Round in goals against per game (.390) while as a team, the Tigers lead the NAIA in shutouts per game (.710) and total shutouts (15). ... Mhairi Fyfe is ranked fourth in the NAIA in total goals with 27 and has averaged 1.3 goals per game this season. She has a total of 58 points on the year with four assists to go along with her team high goal total. ... Along with Fyfe, the Tigers have two addition double-figure goal scorers in Rachel Veatch (13) and Chelsea Gill (10). Veatch was the only top goal scorer for the Tigers to score in their Opening Round win.
About the Ravens: Benedictine earned their 12th shutout of the season in their Opening Round win over Trinity International while keeper Ellen Loughman earned her sixth on the season. ... The Ravens Opening Round win was sparked by familiar faces to the program that have missed time this season due to injury as their goals were scored by Liz Enna and Liz Intfen. It was the third goal of the season for Enna and the fifth goal of the season for Intfen. ... Benedictine ranks second in total goals in the NAIA (93) and shots per game (24.9). They also rank third in shots on goal per game (13.2) and are fourth in total assists (65.) ... Rosie McShane ranks fifth in the NAIA in total goals (26) while Ashley Chandler is fifth in shots on goal per game (3.5). ... Both McShane and Ashley Chandler rank in the top 10 in the NAIA in total points with McShane in seventh with 56 and Chandler in eighth with 55.
