YORK, Neb. – The Raven Softball team earned a doubleheader win on Tuesday as they traveled to Nebraska to take on York College.
Benedictine (6-4) earned a 3-1 win in the opener and then wrapped up the sweep with a 8-0 win in five innings in game two.
Katie Ricklefs earned the start inside the circle in the opener, and threw all seven innings for the Ravens. She gave up one run off nine hits with three strikeouts to earn the win.
At the plate, Alexis Richardson and Lindsey Profitt each went 2 for 3 while Jenna Fitzpatrick went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
In game two, Annie Turbyfill recorded a two-hit shutout in the run-rule-shortened win for Benedictine. She scattered two hits over five innings with three strikeouts.
At the plate, the Ravens belted out 12 hits to score their eight runs. Profitt went 3 for 3 with two doubles while Kellie Bachkora went 3 for 3 with a double and 4 RBIs. Fitzpatrick added another two-hit game while Lindsay Grant added two RBIs.
The Ravens remain on the road Wednesday with a doubleheader in Sterling, Kan., against Sterling College.
