WICHITA – The KCAC released its inaugural Women's Lacrosse all-conference team on Thursday and the Raven Women's Lacrosse team was well represented.
Head coach Amanda Magee was named the Coach of the Year by her fellow coaches after guiding the first-year program to a share of the 2016 KCAC Championship while the Ravens placed five players on the first and second team.
Elizabeth Darrow and Julianne Smith were named to the first team while Caitlyn Chickey, Chiara Petruccelli and Shannon Groe were named to the second team.
Darrow led the Ravens in scoring with 28 goals while also recording two assists. Smith was second in scoring behind Darrow with 19 while recording seven assists.
Chickey actually earned two spots on the second team. In addition to being named a midfielder, she was also named the second team's draw specialist. She recorded 26 draw controls this season while also scoring 15 goals.
Petruccelli and Groe were named as second team defenders. Petruccelli led the team with 13 caused turnovers.
The Ravens earned the three seed in the KCAC Tournament and will played two seed Missouri Valley College at 7 p.m. tonight in Leavenworth on the campus of the University of St. Mary.
