Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleyball sweeps (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University

A day after earning a 3-1 over Culver-Stockton in Heart play, the Raven Volleyball team stepped out of conference play to host (RV) Kansas Wesleyan University for Homecoming.

Benedictine (18-7) earned a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 win over Kansas Wesleyan (20-7) to hand the Coyotes their third straight loss.

The Ravens finished the match with a .209 hitting percentage as two Ravens finished in double figures in kills.

Fleur Wesselink and Sara Rahmanzai both finished with 14 kills. Sofi Thomas added 9 kills as the team finished with 51 kills.

Taylor Garner anchored the offensive attack with 47 assists with two kills of her own.

Defensively, the Ravens finished with 72 digs – a new three-set match high. Abby Brown led the back line with 24 digs with Haley Cochran added 11. Wesselink and Carly Taylor added 9 digs to round out the defensive effort.

The Ravens return to the road on Tuesday as they travel to Baldwin City to take on Baker University in Heart play. The Ravens took the first meeting between the long-time rivals 3-2 on Sept. 19. They wrap up the home portion of the regular season on Sept. 28 as they host Evangel University at 1 p.m. for Spooky Saturday in the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
