Women's Basketball to start 2018 at No. 9

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Raven Women's Basketball team will start off 2018 where they left 2017 at No. 9 as the NAIA released the second Div. I Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday afternoon.

Benedictine (11-2) returns to Heart play with a pair of road games before a showdown on Jan. 10 with rival Baker University.

The Ravens are the second-highest ranked member of the Heart in the second poll of the regular season. MNU leads the way at No. 6 with Baker at No. 11 and Central Methodist University listed in the other's receiving votes category.

In addition the three ranked members from the Heart in this week's poll, the poll also features several of the Ravens non-conference opponents this week in No. 8 Oklahoma City University, No. 17 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), No. 19 John Brown (Ark.) University and No. 21 Lindenwood University-Belleville.

Benedictine currently ranks No. 13 in NAIA Div. I in assists per game (17.0) while they rank No. 16 in offensive rebounds per game (15.5) and turnover margin (4.8).

The Ravens take on William Penn University tonight at 5:30 p.m. to return to Heart play and then travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday for a Noon tipoff against Mount Mercy University on Saturday before returning home to take on Baker.
