CANTON, Mo. – The Raven Women's Soccer team picked up a shutout on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Culver-Stockton College.
Benedictine (13-1-2, 7-1-1 Heart) scored a goal in each half en route to the win over Culver (7-7-2, 2-6-1 Heart).
Nicole Kelly improved her Heart scoring lead as she scored both goals for the Ravens on a pair of assists from Emily Ambuul. Kelly's first goal came during the 30th minute on a cross from Ambuul which Kelly burried from 17 yards out. The second goal came during the 69th minute when Ambuul crossed again to Kelly who scored from 15 yards out.
Beneditine finished with a 22-7 advantage in shots.
Ashley Rehagen earned the win and the shutout in goal for the Ravens. In 90 minutes, she recorded five saves to earn her second shutout of the season.
As a team, the shutout marked the 10th on the season in 16 matches.
Benedictine remains on the road for a match on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Lamoni, Iowa, with Graceland University before closing out the Heart regular season at 5 p.m. Saturday with a match against Clarke University as part of Benedictine's annual Homecoming Weekend.
