WICHITA – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference released the 2018 All-KCAC Women's Lacrosse team on Wednesday and it the all-conference selections had a heavy Benedictine feel.
Including the Offensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, the Ravens earned 13 postseason honors this season.
For the second time in three years Lizzie Darrow was named the KCAC Offensive Player of the Year and for the third straight season head coach Amanda Magee was named the Coach of the Year.
Darrow was joined on the first team by Emily Ruhland, Clare Hanson, Mary McEnerney, Kacey Moore, Molly Muehlebach and Teresa Petruccelli. Darrow, Ruhland, Hanson and Muehlebach unanimous first-team selections.
Chiara Petruccelli, Megan Ostrander, Antonia Nelson and Riley Etter were all named to the second team.
Darrow led the Ravens in scoring through the end of the regular season with 54 goals while adding nine assists. She also finished the regular season with a 80.2 shot on goal percentage. McEnerney was second on the team in scoring with 41 goals while adding 17 assists. Moore scored 36 goals (23 assists), Ruhland scored 24 goals (27 assists), Muehlebach scored 28 (13 assists) and Hanson scored 16 (25 assists).
Teresa Petruccelli tallied 54 saves in over 70 minutes in goal as she played every minute in goal for the Ravens this season.
Chiara Petruccelli scored 21 goals, Ostrander recorded 19 ground balls with nine caused turnovers. Nelson recorded 18 ground balls with six caused turnovers while Etter 22 ground balls with two caused turnovers.
Benedictine earned the top seed in the KCAC Championship which get underway later today at 4 p.m. in Leavenworth.
