(12) Men's Basketball earns 10th Heart win with comeback over (20) Peru State

PERU, Neb. – After trailing No. 20 Peru State College by as much as 15 points on Thursday night, the No. 12-ranked Raven Men's Basketball team battled back in the second half against the Bobcats to earn a 67-63 win.

Benedictine (14-2, 10-0 Heart) remains the only unbeaten team in the Heart while the win extends their winning streak to 13 games.

The game started with five lead changes before Peru State went on a 15-2 run that pushed them ahead by 12 before pulling in front by 15 with just under three minutes left in the first half.

Benedictine turned the momentum back in their favor, closing their deficit down to eight points before Peru State took a 34-25 lead into halftime.

The Ravens outscored the Bobcats 25-9 to start the second half. Jaiden Bristol knocked in a 3-pointer with 12:23 left in the game to put Benedictine in the lead, 46-45. It was the Ravens first lead since the 12:43 mark of the first half and just their fourth overall.

Peru State answered to regain the lead pushing ahead by as much as five before another 3-pointer, this time from Colby Nickels, put the Ravens up once again, 60-57, with just over six minutes left to play. The lead changed hands two more times over the rest of the game. After Peru State went up, 63-62, a 3-pointer from Eric Krus put the Ravens up for good with 1:15 left to play.

Bristol knocked in a pair of free throws with four seconds left to play to put the Ravens up by four and seal the comeback.

Thomas O'Connor led a trio of Ravens in double figures with 16. Bristol and Krus were close behind with 14 each. Benedictine finished with a 46.2-percent effort from the floor with 11 3-pointers. Thursday's game was the 12th time this season the Ravens reached double digits in 3-pointers made and the 11th time over their winning streak
