Women's Soccer flipped the script in a 3-0 win against the Baker Wildcats on Saturday at Legacy Field.
The game was the quarterfinal matchup in the Heart Postseason Championship.
The game was very different than the first time the two teams met this season. In that first meeting, a 1-0 Wildcats win, the Ravens managed just one shot on goal. That wasn't the case Saturday in Atchison.
The Ravens opened the scoring about 10 minutes into the match, despite being a player down at the time of the goal. Shortly after Nicole Kelly briefly left for an injury, Sydney Routh connected with Maisy Louree, who was able to beat the Wildcats keeper to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.
Routh netted the second goal for the Ravens. The senior received a perfect through ball from midfield by fellow senior Emily Ambuul. One-on-one with the keeper, Routh slotted it into net to double the Ravens lead in the 38th lead.
The proverbial icing on the cake came with just over 9 minutes left to play when Kelly scored the Ravens third goal of the game. Kelly raced behind the Baker backline then beat Baker's keeper to her left to make it 3-0.
The Ravens finished with nine shots on goal. Ashley Rehagen kept a clean sheet in the first half for the Ravens with one save, while Olivia Berry closed out the second half with four saves.
Next up for the Ravens will be a 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 game at MidAmerica Nazarene University for the semifinal of the Heart Postseason Championship. MNU beat the Ravens 2-1 earlier this season, setting up another chance for the Ravens to avenge an earlier loss.
