Women's Basketball closes out 2019 with win over NAIA Div. II No. 3 College of the Ozarks

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The Raven Women's Basketball team wrapped up their non-conference schedule on Friday with a comeback win over NAIA Div. II No. 3 College of the Ozarks.

Benedictine (11-2) trailed by 14 points headed into the fourth quarter where they outscored the Bobcats 32-12 to earn a 63-57 win.

Trailing by 11 points early in the fourth quarter, the Ravens erased their deficit with an 11-0 run that was capped off by a basket from LaRanda Thomas that gave the Ravens their first lead since the first quarter.

The Ravens defense limited the Bobcats to just three field goals in the fourth quarter while forcing eight turnovers. Offensively, Benedictine converted on 42.9 percent from the floor while converting 14 of 19 at the free-throw line.

Benedictine finished the game with a 12 rebound advantage as they finished with 14 offensive rebounds that led to a 12-5 advantage in second-chance points. Defensively, they forced College of the Ozarks into 22 turnovers which they scored 22 points off.

Thomas led the Ravens with 14 points while Kayla Staley and Skylar Washington scored 12 points each.

The Ravens are off for the holiday break, they return to action on Jan. 4 when they host Graceland University back inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
