BALDWIN CITY – The Raven Volleyball team won their third straight match on Tuesday as they traveled to Baker University to take on the Wildcats.
Benedictine dropped the first set 25-23 and then rattled off three straight - 25-15, 25-21, 25-15 - to earn the four-set win.
For the second time this season, the Ravens recorded over 50 kills in a match while they connected on .234 over the four sets for their second-highest attack percentage of the season. Aretha Victalino set a new career-high with 17 kills as she paced the Ravens offensive attack. Caitlin Vancura gave the Ravens a second double-digit attacker as she added 13 while Haylie Dickerson and Grace Millard finished with 9 and 8 kills respectively.
As a team, the Ravens finished with 48 assists - their second-highest team total of the season. Taea Kapels led the team with 24 while Marea Wortmann added 20.
Defensively, the Ravens finished with 66 digs and 6 team blocks. Megan Luby led the backline with 21 while Mary Pat Taylor added 14. Victalino finished the match with three solo blocks while Dickerson and Katrina Vojvodic added one each.
The Ravens return to action on Friday as they travel to Olathe to take on the MNU Pioneers. There is a JV match scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by the Varsity match at 7 p.m.
