Raven Football wraps up their Heart cross-divisional schedule on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they host (RV) Culver-Stockton College for Family Weekend on O'Malley Field at Larry Wilcox Stadium.
Benedictine (3-2) is looking for their third straight win while Culver-Stockton (4-1) goes for their first straight win after a season-opening loss to NAIA-ranked Baker University.
THE SERIES: This year's meeting between Benedictine and Culver-Stockton marks the 33rd overall between the two schools. Benedictine leads the overall series 30-2 and is 29-0 since joining the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Last season the Ravens earned a 33-9 on O'Malley Field against the Wildcats. In 2019, the Ravens earned a 27-7 win in Canton, Mo., the closest margin in the series since a 29-19 win for Benedictine during the 2014 season.
ABOUT BENEDICTINE: The Ravens rank second in the Heart in scoring at 41.2 points per game with a total of 206 points. ... Benedictine is fifth in total offense (1,996 yards) and yards per game (399.2). ... In four games, JaShawn Todd is averaging 12.3 yards per carry with a total of 123 yards. While the Ravens have scored 17 rushing touchdowns this season, Todd is still looking for his first. ... Garrett Kettle has rushed for 6 touchdowns while Rayshon Mills has rushed for 5 while leading the Ravens in rushing per game at 50.8. ... Kettle is averaging 192.6 yards passing through five games. He has a total of 963 yards with 9 touchdowns this season to move his career total to 2,228 yards. He is 160 yards away from moving into the Top 15 all-time in passing yards at Benedictine.
ABOUT CULVER-STOCKTON: The Wildcats enter the match up with the Ravens as the top-scoring offense in the Heart at an average of 41.4 points. ... Since falling to Baker on Aug. 28, 38-36, the Wildcats have rattled off wins over MNU, Evangel, Missouri Valley and Central Methodist. Saturday's meeting with Benedictine is just their third road game of the season. ... The Wildcats are averaging 468 yards on offense through five games, tops in the Heart so far. Their offensive attack is as balanced as it has been in years, with a 281.6 yard average in the air and 186.4 yard average on the ground. ... Jase Orndorff is averaging 278.2 yards passing off 86 completions with 15 touchdowns. ... Jordan Grant leads the Wildcats rushing attack with 533 yards off 95 carries for an average of 106.6 yards per game. He also has a team-high 7 rushing touchdowns, accounting for all but one of their rushing touchdowns.
