Ravens Women's Soccer kept the good times rolling on Saturday night.
The Ravens defeated the Graceland University Yellowjackets 4-1, extending their winning streak to five matches.
The Ravens didn't waste much time getting on the scoreboard. Rachel Beffa lined up a corner kick 5 minutes into the contest and sent it into the box. Emma Strecker met the ball in the air, heading it in to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
Graceland tied things up just 2 minutes later, earning a Penalty Kick after getting fouled in the box. Ana Muruzabal stepped to the spot and knocked the PK home to tie it, 1-1.
With just under 20 minutes left in the half, Annabelle Hoog gave the lead back to the Ravens. Sam Mausbach had a nice spin move to move through the Graceland defense, then laid it off to Hoog who moved by a couple defenders and then sent a ball out of the reach of the GU keeper, giving the Ravens a 2-1 lead.
Then, with just under 12 minutes to play before half, Mausbach sent a ball forward that was deflected by Rachel Beffa behind the GU keeper, allowing Riley Degner to have an open shot on goal that she knocked into the net to give the Ravens a 3-1 lead. They maintained that 2-goal lead into halftime.
Beffa added to her two assists by notching the opening goal of the second half. After a shot was deflected in the box, Beffa sent the ball into goal 11 minutes into the second half to give the Ravens a 4-1 lead.
Beffa's goal wound up being the final tally of the contest, as the Ravens held on for the 3-goal win. After the Yellowjackets PK in the first half, the Ravens never let the visitors get another good chance on goal. The Ravens out-shot Graceland 21-8, including a 13-6 advantage in shots on goal. Olivia Berry made 4 saves in goal for the Ravens.
The Ravens move to 12-3 on the season, and 8-2 in Heart of America Conference play. They'll travel to Baldwin City, Kansas, to take on the Baker Wildcats on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
