Volleyball uses season-high attack effort to sweep William Penn

Volleyball picked up a sweep over William Penn University on Saturday as they wrapped up Heart cross-division weekend against the Statesmen.

A day after being swept by NAIA-ranked Grand View, the Ravens hit a season-high .429 en route to a 25-11, 25-22, 25-11.

Three Ravens finished in double figures in kills. Mary Pat Taylor led the way with 15, Regan Bruggeman added 12 while Haylie Dickerson finished with 10. Marea Wortman recorded 46 assists as the Ravens finished the match with 48 kills to just 8 attack errors.

Defensively, Kristijan Istuk led the back row with 9 digs while Taylor added 8. At the net, Dickerson finished with two block assists while Maggie Schoening added a solo block. 

Benedictine hits the road on Tuesday as they take on Park University in Parkville, Mo., before they return home for their final two matches taking on Culver-Stockton on Oct. 30 for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
