The Raven Softball team swept a doubleheader from Park University on Wednesday with a pair of walk-off hits but in very different fashions.

Leading 9-2 in the bottom of the fifth in the opener, Madison Zacarrdo hit a 2-run home run to end the game early by the final of 11-2. In game two, Zacarrdo came to the plate with one out in the seventh and broke a tie with the Pirates with a solo home run to give Benedictine an 11-10 win and the sweep.

In game one, the Ravens scored five runs in the second inning to break open the game in support of Alex Gilham inside the circle. Gilham went four innings to earn the win, giving up two runs off three hits – both unearned.

At the plate, the Ravens got doubles from Halley Rindom, Molly Chevalier, Blair Shanks, and Lenae Salinas. They also got home runs from Abby Pressgrove and Isabella Ingui to go along with the home run from Zacarrdo.

In game two, the Ravens jumped out to a 10-1 lead in support of Pressgrove. She gave way to Alicia Armijo who was charged with six runs before Pressgrove returned. She finished the game allowing four runs before Alex Gilham finished off the seventh. By then, Park had erased their deficit and tied the game at 10-10 to set up the walkoff from Zacarrdo.

Megan Medhus finished the game with two doubles and four RBI. Chevalier and Ingui added two more doubles with Zacarrdo hitting the only home run of game two.

Benedictine is scheduled to host William Penn University back on Ravens Field at 1 p.m. Saturday.
