(4) Women's Lacrosse moves to 5-0 in KCAC play with win over William Penn

No. 4 Raven Women's Lacrosse remained unbeaten in KCAC play on Wednesday as they took care of conference newcomer William Penn University on Legacy Field.

Benedictine earned a 27-3 win over the Statesmen for their fifth conference win of the season.

The Ravens opened the game with two straight goals from Megan Rossman and Aiden McEnerney. Rossman was credited with the assist on the second goal as the Ravens jumped out to a 2-0 lead inside the first four minutes of play. William Penn answered to cut Benedictine's lead in half only to watch as the Ravens scored four more to pull ahead 6-1 with just under 20 minutes left to play.

Eric Odell scored a free-position goal with 6:36 remaining in the first half to push the Ravens ahead by 10 points and kick in the running close for the fourth straight game in the first half. By halftime, the Ravens lead stood at 13-2 as Benedictine held William Penn to just three first-half shots.

The Statesmen scored first in the second half with 29 minutes remaining in the game before the Ravens scored 14 unanswered to pull away.

Benedictine finished with a 55-4 advantage in shots while recording 43 shots on goal to William Penn's four.

Natalie Wechter led the Ravens with 6 goals, followed by McEnerney, Molly Muehlebach, and Clarke Ryan with 4 goals each. Odell added 3 goals while Grace Simonson and Rianna England scored 2 goals each. Elizabeth Conley added one goal to go with the goal scored by Rossman to round out the scoring effort for the Ravens. Ryan led the Ravens with 5 assists, followed by Rossman with 3. Wechter, Muehlebach, and McEnerney added 2 while Odell finished with 1.

Gianna Stalletti went the distance in goal for the Ravens finishing with one save as the Ravens defense in front of her forced the Statesmen into 32 turnovers. Odell and Wechter finished with 2 caused turnovers each.

The Ravens remain at home on Saturday as they host KCAC newcomer Culver-Stockton College at 1 p.m.
