Top-seeded Women's Lacrosse advances to KCAC Semifinals

(4) Raven Women's Lacrosse earned a 26-goal win on Saturday in the Quarterfinals of the KCAC Lacrosse Championships.

Benedictine advanced over No. 8 seed Culver-Stockton College 27-1 on Legacy Field.

The Ravens hit the ground running against the Wildcats. Benedictine scored six times inside the first two minutes of the game. Natalie Wechter scored three of those six, setting the stage for some of her own history later in the game.

Aiden McEnerney scored off an assist from Molly Muehlebach with just over 24 minutes left in the first half to put the Ravens in front by 10 goals and start the running clock.

Benedictine added eight more goals before halftime to take an 18-0 lead into the halftime break as they held Culver-Stockton to just one shot through the first 30 minutes of play. Benedictine outshot Culver-Stockton 25-1 at the break while forcing 11 first-half turnovers.

The Ravens scored five goals in the second half before the Wildcats netted their lone goal of the game. Wechter made it 23-0 Benedictine with 14:57 remaining in the game to score her 150th career goal as a Raven.

Benedictine finished the game with a 38-2 advantage in shots. Wechter led the scoring with 5 followed by Erica Odell with 4. Clare Ryan and Muehlebach scored 3 each while McEnerney was joined by Megan Rossmann and Anne Marie Mannella with 2 goals. Tara Olinger and Rianna England scored one goal each. Wechter also led the Ravens with 8 assists, followed by McEnerney and Muehlbach with 3. Odell, Simonson and Ryan added 2 while Mannella finished with 1.

Benedictine used three goalies in the win. Gianna Stallatti earned the win, playing the first half. Quincy Dolan and Rebecca Wichman split time in the second half.

The Ravens advance to the KCAC Semifinals at 4 p.m. Thursday on Legacy Field as Benedictine serves as host for the final two rounds of the KCAC Championships this season. Tickets will be available through the KCAC website, with links posted later this week. They will take on the winner of the Ottawa-William Penn Quarterfinal.
