Raven Volleyball swept through their cross-divisional weekend matches on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, they earned a 3-0 win at Peru State College and then wrapped up the weekend with a 3-0 sweep over Graceland University on Saturday morning.
Against Peru State, the Ravens hit .219 on their attack with a total of 39 kills. Marea Wortman set up the attack with 29 assists while also recording two kills over her own. Mary Pat Taylor and Haylie Dickerson led the attack with 11 kills each while Regan Bruggeman continued a strong start to her Raven career with 9 kills.
Defensively, the Ravens held the Bobcats to a negative attack percentage off 14 block assists and one solo block. Joslyn Lewis and Dickerson finished with four block assists each while Taylor finished with three. Bruggeman recorded the Ravens lone solo block. Kristijan Istuk finished with 19 digs to lead the back row defensive effort.
Against Graceland, the Ravens finished with a .216 attack percentage and 37 kills while holding the Yellowjackets to just a .010 attack percent. Dickerson led the attack with 10 kills while also leading the charge at the net with three block assists. Bruggeman and Taylor finished with 7 kills each.
Wortman anchored the attack, finishing the match with 30 assists.
Defensively, the Ravens finished with 41 digs to go along with six block assists and three solo blocks. Istuk led the backline with 16 digs followed by Taylor with 14. Lewis recorded two solo blocks to go along with Dickerson's efforts at the net.
The Ravens return to action on Friday with a trip to MNU to take on the Pioneers at 7 p.m. before hosting Park University at 5 p.m. Saturday as part of Benedictine's annual Family Weekend.
