FAYETTE, Mo. – No. 8 Central Methodist University used two second-half goals on Wednesday night to hand the No. 22-ranked Raven Women's Soccer team their third loss of Heart play, 2-0.
After waiting through a weather delay that forced the match to stop minutes into the first half, the two teams played to a scoreless draw at the half. CMU limited Benedictine offensively all match long, holding the Ravens shotless through the first 45 minutes. Olivia Berry preserved the draw at the break with six first-half saves.
The Eagles finally broke the scoring drought with a goal during the 58th minute before adding a second goal during the 78th minute.
Sam Mausbach and Madeline Stewart recorded the Ravens two shots with Stewart recording the only shot on goal. Berry finished with six saves over 90 minutes as the Eagles used a 27-2 advantage in shots and a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal en route to the win.
The Ravens return home at 5 p.m. Saturday to host William Penn University as part of Family Weekend.
