Women's Soccer notched their second-straight shutout on Saturday night.
The (25) Ravens defeated the Bethel Threshers 4-0 at Legacy Field, improving their record to 3-1 on the season.
The Ravens created several chances early against the Threshers, with shots going just wide and even off the post. But with 27:24 left in the first half, Riley Degner slipped a pass to Annabelle Hoog, who blasted a shot by the Bethel keeper to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
The Threshers helped the Ravens out, scoring an own goal with 12 minutes to play before half.
With 9:52 left in the half, the Ravens extended their lead. Kourtney Koc was taken down in the box, earning a Penalty Kick. Gracie Eckardt stepped to the spot and went to her right to beat the keeper for a 3-0 Ravens lead. They held that lead into the halftime break.
Hailey White kept the Ravens firepower going 10 minutes in the second half White took a deep shot, slotting it in the upper corner of the goal to push the Ravens lead to 4-0.
The defense for the Ravens made that lead stick, holding the Threshers to just 4 shots in the game, and just 1 shot on goal. Olivia Berry played 70 minutes in goal, making the lone Ravens save, and Caroline Gyllenborg played the final 20 minutes in goal. The Ravens haven't allowed a goal in their past two games, and have only allowed two goals in their four matches this season.
Able to hold possession and play with a lead for most of the match, the Ravens were able to go deep into their bench. The Ravens had 26 players notch at least 9 minutes of action against Bethel.
Up next is the final non-conference match for the Ravens, a Sept. 8 tilt at Concordia (Neb.). Then the Ravens will start Heart of America Conference play at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at home against MidAmerica Nazarene University.
