Men's Soccer dropped a home contest to the unbeaten No. 2 team in the country Tuesday night.
The Ravens lost 4-0 to the Central Methodist University Eagles at home on Legacy Field. The Eagles built their 4-0 lead in the first half, then both teams played even in the second half.
The Eagles opened the scoring 10 minutes into the match when Cian Halpin turned with the ball at the top of the box and sent a shot into the left netting to put CMU up 1-0.
With 27:35 to play in the first half, the Eagles Guilherme Pereira lined up a free kick and scored to the right side of the goal to push the CMU lead to 2-0.
The Eagles struck on a free kick again with 16 minutes left in the half. A cross into the box found the head of a CMU player and his shot slipped past the keeper to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
The CMU lead increased to 4-0 with 7:30 to play in the first half. A cross slipped from right to left gave the Eagles player a good look at goal and he buried the opportunity.
The Ravens were able to possess the ball a lot more in the second half, but were unable to find a goal. The Ravens finished with 4 shots and 4 corner kicks. The Eagles recorded 17 shots, with Ravens keeper Noah Reuscher notching 5 saves in goal.
Next up for the Ravens (5-8-2, 2-6-1 Heart) is a trip to No. 5 Missouri Valley College on Friday, Oct. 21.
