Volleyball hosted its return match with Park University on Saturday morning as they opened up their final homestand against the Pirates.
The match with the No. 13-ranked Pirates marked the second straight match for the Ravens against an NAIA-ranked opponent and Benedictine was prepared.
The Ravens earned a 25-19 win to open the match before the Pirates were able to get going and win the next three sets, 25-16, 25-16, 25-23 to earn the win.
Benedictine limited Park to a .125 attack during the first set as they connected at .256 percent. The Pirates warmed up to hit .448 in the second set and a match-high .552 in the third set.
Regan Bruggeman and Maura Lickteig finished with 11 kills each as the Ravens finished the match with 51 total. Haylie Dickerson added 10 while Mary Pat Taylor finished with 8 to round out the top hitters. Haley Cahill and Marissa Mantz anchored the offensive attack. Cahill finished with 28 assists while Mantz added 17.
Defensively, the Ravens finished with 5 team blocks and 54 digs. Lickteig, Dickerson, and Joslyn Lewis finished with 2 block assists each while Dickerson added a solo block. Kristijana Istuk finished the match with 17 digs and was the only Raven in double figures. Sabrina Oncins added 8 while Mantz finished with 7.
Benedictine wraps up its regular season at 7 p,m. on Tuesday against Baker University when they will celebrate Senior Night before the match with the Wildcats.
