Men's Soccer lost a close home match Saturday night.

The Ravens scored the first 2 goals of the game, but lost 3-2 to the Clarke University Pride.

JJ Johannsen scored 5 minutes into the action, dribbling forward and sliding one past the keeper's left to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.

The Ravens doubled that lead 4 minutes later. Justin Morales sent a cross in from the right side and Dylan Posada one-touched it past the keeper to put the Ravens up 2-0 just 9 minutes into the game.

The Pride began their comeback with 10:10 to play before halftime thanks to a well-placed header. The momentum continued with the visitors in the second half.

Clarke evened the score 9 minutes into the second half when a strong shot from the top of the box deflected off a player and into the corner of the net. With 36 minutes to play, the teams were tied 2-2. Only 2 minutes later the Pride continued their scoring run to take a 3-2 lead.

The Ravens tried to press forward the final half hour of the match, but were unable to find an equalizing goal. The Pride outshot the Ravens 13-8, but the Ravens had a 5-4 shots on goal advantage. Clarke played a physical match, getting whistled to 26 fouls compared to 11 against the Ravens.

A road match awaits for the Ravens (4-4-2, 1-2-1 Heart) as they try to bounce back into the win column. They will play at William Penn University on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
