Women's Soccer takes on Tennessee-Southern on Monday in NAIA Championship Third Round

FOLEY, Ala. – No. 24 Benedictine Women's Soccer returns to the host site of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship on Monday as they take on No. 11 Tennessee Southern.

Benedictine (14-4-4) and UT-Southern (15-4-2) take on each other at 7 p.m. at the Foley Sports Tourism Championship Stadium. The match-up between the Ravens and the Firehawks is the second time the two programs have met during the Championship. UT-Southern, previously known as Martin Methodist, and Benedictine met during the third round of the 2017 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship where Benedictine earned a Shootout win 5/5 over 3/4.

UT-Southern advanced to the final site, earning a 1-0 win over No. 19 Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Hikaru Uchida scored during the 15th minute off an assist from Camilla Tayebi. The Firehawks held a 14-12 advantage in shots with 5 shots on goal. Keeper Kayken Stockstill finished with 4 saves over 90 minutes.

Benedictine advanced to the final site, earning a 1-0 overtime win over No. 5 Columbia (Mo.). Riley Degner scored during the 96th minute off an assist from Annabelle Hood. The Ravens recorded 9 shots, six of which were on goal. Makenzie Korzencki matched her career high in saves with 10 over 110 minutes in goal.
