Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

(9) Men's Lacrosse falls to (3) University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 18-10

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – No. 3 University of the Cumberlands grabbed the momentum late in the first half against No. 9 Men's Lacrosse on Tuesday night and never looked back.

Despite scoring two men down to make it 6-5 with 7:29 left in the first half, the Patriots seized the momentum from the Ravens scoring five straight to end the half en route to an 18-10 win over the Ravens.

Benedictine's Zachary Torres and Joseph Bianchi were penalized for illegal equipment with 8:18 remaining in the second quarter, giving the Patriots a two-man advantage. Despite that, Jordan Rodriguez was able to score to pull the Ravens within a goal before the Patriots started to capitalize on their player advantage.

Rodriguez was able to score the first goal of the third quarter off an assist from Torres, but the Ravens were unable to grab back any momentum as the Patriots answered with three straight.

Benedictine was able to turn a 10-goal deficit with 9 minutes remaining in the game into an 8-goal loss with goals from Joey Calabria and James Carson inside the last 2:30 of the game.

Rodriguez led the Ravens with 4 goals and 2 assists. Carson and Calabria added 2 goals each while Grady Guck and Torres finished with a goal each. Guck joined Rodriguez with 2 assists.

Jacob Clipperton went the distance in goal for the Ravens, finishing with 6 saves. Bianchi went 11 of 25 on faceoffs while the Ravens finished with 8 caused turnovers. Drew Doran led the way with 4 caused turnovers while also picking up 4 groundballs. Carson Huerter led the Ravens with 7 groundballs.
