OKLAHOMA CITY – Days after knocking off top-ranked Oklahoma City University in their tournament finale, Softball returned to Oklahoma City to take on the Stars on their campus.
Oklahoma City earned the sweep over Benedictine winning 2-1 and 1-0.
In the opener, the Stars scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie to earn the win. Kera Willoughby suffered the loss inside the circle for the Ravens. She threw 5 innings, giving up two runs off five hits.
Willoughby was also responsible for the Ravens lone run. She connected on a solo home run in the top of the fifth pulling the Ravens even with the Stars. Natalie Sheffield finished the game with a double while Kassidy James went 2 for 2.
In the second game, the Ravens still managed five hits at the plate, but couldn't drive home any runs off the OCU pitcher. Madison Zaccardo went 2 for 4 at the plate while Megan Medus, Sheffield, and Bella Ingui recorded the three remaining hits.
Lacey Foster suffered the loss inside the circle. She threw all six innings, giving up one run off five hits.
Benedictine returns home for a pair of doubleheaders over the weekend. They host Hastings at 1 p.m. Saturday and Midland at 1 p.m. Sunday.
