Madison Zaccardo earns weekly Heart honors for Softball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For her efforts in Benedictine's 4-0 week, Madison Zaccardo has been named the Heart Softball Hitter of the Week.

Benedictine earned a pair of conference sweeps during the week over Peru State University on Wednesday on the road before wrapping up the week with a sweep over Graceland University on Sunday back on Ravens Field.

Zaccardo had a hit in each game, going 7-13 on the week with a .538 batting average. She also hit 2 home runs, and 2 doubles and drove in 4 runs.

She is currently tied for second in the Heart with 7 home runs while she is seventh in the Heart in overall slugging percentage at .602. 

Zaccardo becomes the second member of the Softball program to earn weekly honors from the Heart this season as Rilee Bell was named the Hitter of the Week back on March 6

Benedictine travels to Des Moines today for a doubleheader against (RV) Grand View that was originally scheduled for Saturday but pushed back due to poor playing conditions.
