BALDWIN CITY – Raven Softball opened up the 2023 Heart Softball Championship Series on Thursday morning against No. 4 seed Grand View University.
The Vikings held the Ravens to just 2 hits en route to a 2-0 win that pushed Benedictine into game 5 of the Championship Series, which has now been pushed back to Friday due to a weather delay after their game.
Grand View scored a run in the first and a run in the third, both coming off starting pitcher Kera Willoughby. She suffered the loss, giving up an earned run off 2 hits before giving way to Lacey Foster. Foster held the Vikings scoreless over 3 innings as she scatted 3 hits.
Offensively, the Ravens hits came from Abby Pressgrove and Chloe Strickland.
