Men's Soccer opened up the home portion of their 2023 campaign in a strong way.

The Ravens topped the Avila University Eagles 3-1.

The Ravens were on the front foot from the very beginning Monday night. Kody Argaez nearly scored twice in the first 30 seconds. His first shot deflected off the cross bar and his shot on the rebound deflected off the left post.

It didn't take much longer for the Ravens to get their opening goal, though. In the 7^th minute, Rian Bautista sent a perfect cross into the box and Adem Aroua one-touched the ball in the goal for the 1-0 lead.

Only 8 minutes later the Ravens doubled their lead. Bautista created another offensive chance, this time finding Eliah Froeyland with a cross from the left side. Froeyland cashed in on the opportunity to make it 2-0.

Aroua added another with 20 minutes to go before half. Pablo Gamboa got the assist this time as Aroua notched his fifth goal of the season .

The Ravens were able to get deep into their bench in the second half and while they didn't score another goal, and Avila scored in the 69^th minute, it was a strong effort by the home side.

Aroua's goals were his 4^th and 5^th of the season through just four contests.

Next up for the Ravens (3-0-1) is another home contest. They'll play at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 against Lyon.
