BALDWIN CITY – Benedictine Volleyball earned a season sweep over Baker University on Tuesday night, taking down the Wildcats on the road in four sets.

After dropping the opening set by two points, the (25) Ravens rattled off wins of 25-16, 25-12, and 25-20 to improve to 8-1 in the Heart.

Baker erased a 21-17 deficit in the opening set with a 7-0 run to earn the win over Benedictine. The Ravens followed up their loss with a .333 attack percentage in the second set while holding the Wildcats to just .150 to even the match. The offensive attack continued to be limited for the Wildcats over the final two sets of the match as Baker combined for a total of 12 kills over the final two sets. In comparison, Benedictine finished off Baker with a total of 24 kills over the final two sets including a match-high 14 kills in the fourth set.

The Ravens finished with 49 kills while hitting .195. Mahala Sewell and Regan Bruggeman led the attack with 12 kills each while Lucy Drexel added 9 kills with a .529 attack percentage. Haley Cahill and Marissa Mantz anchored the attack as the Ravens finished with 46 assists. Cahill finished with 25 assists while Mantz added 19.

Defensively, the Ravens finished with 76 digs and 16 block assists. Evelyn Arreola led the backline with 30 digs, followed by Hokulani Sagapolu with 14 and Cate Milroy with 13. Maura Lickteig finished with five block assists at the net, followed by Bruggmen with 4 and Winny Harris with 3.

The Ravens return home on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match with No. 17 Park University inside the Ralph Nolan Gymnasium.
