Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Graceland finishes off Men's Basketball season 70-58 on the road

LAMONI, Iowa – Benedictine Men's Basketball saw their season come to a close on Saturday as Graceland University earned a 70-58 win over the Ravens.

Braden Belt and Ahmad Louis scored the first two baskets of the game to give Benedictine an early lead. Brycen LaRue answered a Yellowjacket 3-pointer with the first of the game for the Ravens inside the first three minutes of the game to keep Benedictine in front.

After Graceland took their first lead, Bence Duka connected on a 3-pointer to put the Ravens back ahead 12-10 and that would be the last time Benedictine held the lead. The Yellowjackets went on a 7-0 run through the midpoint of the first half to pull ahead by 5 points.

The Yellowjackets largest lead of the first half was also their halftime lead, 37-29.

Like the first half, the Ravens scored the opening basket of the second half, this time on a pair of layups from Gino Corridori. The Yellowjackets held the Ravens to a Duka free throw over the next two minutes to extend their lead to 11 points.

The Ravens didn't go away, pulling back within four points on a Louis jumper, a Belt 3-pointer, and a layup by Ezrah Vaiagafa. Graceland followed with another ru to extend their lead back to double figures before a jumper by LaRue cut that lead back to 8 points with four minutes left to play.

Graceland held Benedictine to a pair of 3-pointers from Belt and Jack VanderWoude over the final four minutes to earn a 12-point win.

Belt finished with a game-high 15 points while Corridori added 12. LaRue finished with 10 points while Louis added 8.

Benedictine finishes their season at 9-17 overall and 8-15 in the Heart.
