Benedictine Baseball hosted NCAA Div. II Northwest Missouri State University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bearcats scored 8 unanswered over the final 7 innings of the game to earn a 10-2 win over the Ravens.
Nelson Klein earned the start on the hill for the Ravens, his first of the season, and threw the first three and one-third innings in the loss. He allowed 6 runs off 7 hits with 3 strikeouts as he suffered the loss. Dominic Susanka, Harper Beattie, Nicholas Mozingo, Andrew Baier, and Evan DeMint finished the game with the remaining pitchers allowing just 2 more earned runs off 6 hits.
At the plate, the Ravens 8 hits came from 8 different players. Brice Martin and Jaden Zimmerman recorded a double while Jack Harpole joined Martin with an RBI.
Benedictine was originally scheduled to open Heart play on Saturday and Sunday against Peru State College in Peru, Neb., but due to issues with the field at Peru State, the four-game series will now be played on Laughlin Field at Olsen Stadium. Both doubleheaders will start at Noon.
