Benedictine Men's Lacrosse dropped its second straight home game on Saturday night, falling to No. 10 Aquinas College 12-5.
The (RV) Ravens led 3-2 after the first quarter but were held to just 1 goal over the second and third quarter before adding their final goal in the fourth quarter.
Mason Eberle scored the first goal of the game, putting Benedictine up 1-0 with 10:33 remaining in the first quarter. After Aquinas tied the game up seconds later, Mac Postel Jr. pushed the Ravens back ahead with two goals assisted by Liam Waldron and Jordan Rodriguez.
Aquinas scored four unanswered goals to end the first quarter and open the second quarter before Brayden Hope scored on an assist from Postel Jr. with just over 11 minutes remaining in the quarter. Aquinas added the final goal of the first half with just under 6 minutes remaining in the second quarter to take a 5-4 lead into halftime.
The second half saw only 7 total goals as the two teams combined for 19 turnovers over the third and fourth quarters. Benedictine committed 9 of their 33 turnovers in the third quarter which helped lead to a scoreless period for the Ravens and allow the Saints to maintain control of the game.
Postel Jr. finished with 2 goals and 2 assists. Zachary Torres joined Eberle and Hope with 1 goal each.
CJ Beluzzi went the distance in goal, recording 14 saves with 5 in the third quarter. Half of the 24 Aquinas turnovers were caused turnovers. Waldron led the team with 4 caused turnovers while Aiden Nicholson finished with 3. Max Thomason won 8 of 11 face-offs while Joseph Bianchi went 4 of 8.
Benedictine returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. hosting the No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech Warriors.
