Raven Baseball closed out the season on Saturday and Sunday, hosting a four-game series on Laughlin Field at Olsen Stadium against No. 6 Central Methodist University.
After dropping a pair of 3-run games on Saturday, 5-2 and 4-1, the Ravens dropped the series with a 12-2 and 11-2 loss on Sunday.
With Sunday's doubleheader, the program honored 17 total Seniors – 14 who are still active with the program in Tyler Marchand, Carson Kasl, Rhett Spell, Harper Beattie, Jaden Zimmerman, Matthew Gephardt, Jack Harpole, Ben DeLaForest, Jack Minnis, Andrew Baier, Hunter Moffet, Evan Sykes, Jackson Sarver and Dominic Susanka.
Game 1: CMU 5, Benedictine 2
The Eagles scored 2 runs in the sixth and a third in the seventh to hold off the Ravens in the series opener.
Nicholas Mozingo earned the start and threw 5 innings, giving up 2 earned runs off 6 hits.
Zimmerman went 3 for 3 at the plate with a pair of doubles as Marchand joined him with an RBI.
Game 2: CMU 4, Benedictine 1
Ben Bowman and Lance Bolles combined to strikeout 11 in the loss. Bowman threw the first four innings, giving up 3 runs off 4 hits with 5 strikeouts while Bolles finished off the game, by throwing the final 3 innings, giving up 1 run off 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.
The Ravens finished with 7 hits offensively. Ashton Neuman and Zimmerman finished with a double each while Marchand drove in the Ravens lone run of the game.
Game 3: CMU 12, Benedictine 2
The Eagles scored 7 unanswered to break open the first game on Sunday.
DeLaForest suffered the loss, throwing the first three and a third. He gave up 3 earned run-off 5 hits with 2 strikeouts before Beattie, Baier, and Charlie Elsten finished off the game.
Zimmerman added his second 3 for 3 game at the plate and was the only Raven with multiple hits as Benedictine finished with 8 total hits. Neuman added a double while Moffet finished with a 2 RBI single.
Game 4: CMU 11, Benedictine 2
The Ravens scored twice on an RBI single from Harpole in the bottom of the first and a RBI from Marchand after he was hit by a pitch to take a 2-1 lead.
The Eagles answered with a 2-run second before they added 5 runs in the fourth, 2 runs in the fifth, and their final run in the seventh.
Sarver threw the first three and two-thirds, giving up 7 earned runs off 8 hits with 3 strikeouts in the loss. Kasl, Susanka, and Evan DeMint finished off the game, giving up three total runs off 2 hits.
Minnis went 2 for 3, recording a double while Harpole and Marchand finished with an RBI each.
Benedictine enters the final week of the regular season with their Heart bye and will finish the season at 14-34 overall and 8-24 in the Heart.
