Men's Soccer backed up their new NAIA Coaches' Poll ranking with a road win Wednesday night.
The (24) Ravens defeated the (RV) Concordia University Bulldogs in a tight, 1-0 win.
Shots were at a premium Wednesday night as both teams were only able to muster 7, each. The Ravens put a bit more pressure on than the Bulldogs, putting 6 shots on goal compared to Concordia's 4.
The decisive attempt came in the 58th minute as Kody Argaez scored an unassisted goal in what proved to be the game-winner.
Keeper Noah Reuscher and the Ravens defense made the Argaez goal stand on its own, keeping a clean sheet and fighting off a shot by the Bulldogs just a minute after the Ravens goal.
In the closing minutes it was the Ravens, not the trailing Bulldogs, who were able to create more scoring opportunities. The Ravens had a pair of corner kicks and two shots on goal in the final 20 minutes but the Argaez goal was enough for the victory.
The Ravens entered the NAIA Coaches' Poll Top 25 on Wednesday for the first time since 2019. The win over another team receiving votes in the poll sets the Ravens up with positive momentum as they enter Heart of America Conference play.
The Ravens (5-1) will remain on the road to take on Culver-Stockton at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 in Canton, Mo.
