Christian Klobe earns second Heart Speicial Teams Player of the Week honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second time this season, Christian Klobe has been honored by the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Klobe was named the Heart Football Special Teams Player of the Week, presented by Musco Lighting, on Monday for his efforts in Benedictine's 52-7 win over Central Methodist University on Saturday.

In addition to converting on all of his point after attempts, Klobe connected on a 55-yard field goal late in the first quarter to put the Ravens ahead 17-7. That field goal broke a 47-year-old record, held by Carey Shaw at 54 yards in a game during the 1978 season against William Jewell College.

He went 7 of 7 on his point afters for the third time this season. On Sept. 27 in the win over Peru State, Klobe went 10 of 10 to set a new program record for PATs in a single game.

Headed into Saturday's game with William Woods, Klobe is tied for 9th in the NAIA in scoring with 66 points. He is second in the NAIA in kick scoring.

Saturday's meeting with William Woods is just the second meeting between the two programs and will kickoff of at 1 p.m. from Larry Wilcox Stadium.
