Men's Basketball lost a tough home game Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens tried to make a comeback against the Mount Mercy University Mustangs, but lost 82-72.
The Ravens faced a 13-point deficit heading into the second half, but came out energized and quickly cut into the Mustangs lead.
Deaglan Sullivan's basket with 13:40 on the clock cut the Mount Mercy lead to 53-49.
The visitors responded and pushed their lead back to 11 points, but the Ravens had more fight left in them. Another run cut the Mustangs lead back down to 4 points after an and-1 by Lary Parker III.
That was as close as the Ravens could get, though, as Mount Mercy's shooting was too much to overcome in the game. The Mustangs shot 50% from the field and made 13-of-24 from 3-point range.
Sullivan had a team-high 22 points and added 8 rebounds for the Ravens.
Jack Vander Woude and
Preston Reynolds both scored 11 points, as Reynolds added 7 rebounds and 5 assists. As a team, the Ravens shot 46.6% from the field but converted on just 4-25 from 3-point range.
The Mustangs took a 13-point lead into halftime thanks to white-hot shooting. Mount Mercy shot at a 60.7% clip in the opening 20 minutes, including 8-13 from 3-point range. They continued to shoot well enough in the second half to hold off each charge the Ravens made.
The Ravens (6-5, 3-2 Heart) will remain home for their next contest, a 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 game against (RV) Missouri Baptist.
