Women's Lacrosse opened the home portion of their schedule with a big win Saturday afternoon.
The (5) Ravens picked up a thorough win, 26-5, against the (RV) Marian University Knights.
The Ravens hit the gas pedal from the very beginning, scoring 3 goals to open the game before the Knights answered with a goal of their own. Then the Ravens rattled off 6 goals in a row to take a 9-1 lead and held a 12-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Chanterra Allen scored 4 goals in the first quarter and Kaylen Moore added 3 goals.
The Ravens continued their dominance in the second quarter, building up a 14-goal lead at halftime, 17-3. Lorelei Siegel aided the Ravens attack in the opening 30 minutes, scoring 4 goals in the first half.
The Ravens closed out the convincing win by outscoring the Knights 9-2 in the second half to earn the 21-goal win. Siegel's 6 goals were a game-high while Moore scored 5 goals and dished out 7 assists. Allen scored 5 goals, Lile Chekas scored 4 goals, and Alexa Hildenbrand had 5 assists and a goal scored.
Molly Owen made 2 saves and earned the win in goal for the Ravens, and Margaret Ritson saved the only shot she faced late in the game.
The Ravens (2-0) return to action at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at home against Ottawa University.
