Men's Basketball closed out the regular season with a big win at home Saturday.
The Ravens defeated the Grand View University Vikings, 67-46, playing well offensively and defensively to earn the win.
Hot shooting gave the Ravens a 41-30 advantage after one half of play. The Ravens were a scorching-hot 71.4% from the floor and an incredible 9-of-11 from 3-point range – good for 81.8% – in the opening half.
Brycen LaRue led the Ravens with 11 points in the opening half, aided by Jack Vander Woude who sank three 3-pointers for 9 points.
The Ravens didn't maintain the incredible shooting pace in the second half, but their defense held the Vikings to just 16 points in the final 20 minutes. Grand View shot just 29.1% from the field and 25% from 3-point range in the game as the Ravens suffocated shooters and outrebounded the Vikings 32-20. The Vikings entered the contest averaging 71 points per game but the Ravens held them 25 points below that mark.
LaRue finished the game with a game-high 14 points to go along with 3 rebounds. Vander Woude finished with 12 points and 3 rebounds, Harrison Kisling had 9 points and 3 assists, Gino Corridori scored 8 to go with 4 boards, and Anthony Hall capped off the Senior Day win with 5 points, including a 3-pointer late in the game.
The win concludes the Ravens (11-17, 10-14 Heart) season on a high note, finishing the month of February with a 5-3 record and winning four of their final five games.
