Women's Lacrosse completed a sweep of visiting Florida schools on Tuesday afternoon.
The (5) Ravens defeated the (10) Ave Maria Gyrenes, 20-5, home on Legacy Field.
The Ravens got off to a quick start against a fellow top-10 ranked team, outscoring the Gyrenes 7-1 in the opening quarter. They pushed that lead to 11 goals by halftime, taking a 13-2 lead into the break.
Kaylen Moore was once again a force for the Ravens, scoring 5 goals and notching 4 draw controls in the first half. Alexa Hildenbrand scored twice in the first quarter and Mackenna Hill also added a pair of first-half goals.
The Ravens solid play continued in the second half as they outscored the Gyneres 5-0 in the third quarter. Chanterra Allen – fresh of being named the NAIA Offensive Player of the Week – scored 3 goals in the third quarter to help give the Ravens an 18-3 advantage.
The Gyrenes found some offensive flow in the final quarter, but it was the Ravens that walked away with the 15-goal victory. Moore finished the contest with a game-high 6 goals and Allen closed out with 5 goals. Hill scored 3 goals. Kiera Russell and Lile Chekas both had 2 assists. Molly Owen made 3 saves in goal for the Ravens.
The Ravens move to 7-0 on the season as they move into conference play at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at home against UHSP.
