(RV) Ravens Softball picks up exciting Sunday sweep

Ravens Softball picked up two thrilling wins at home on Sunday.

The (RV) Ravens won Game 1, 5-0, then earned a walk-off, 2-0 win to complete the sweep in Game 2.

Game 1

Lily SinghDhillon was the star of the show in the opener on Sunday. The sophomore pitcher gave the Graceland hitters fits from the beginning of the game and never let up. SinghDhillon (11-5) no-hit the Yellowjackets, striking out 10 batters and allowing just 3 walks. It was her second no-hitter of the season.

Renay Myers helped get the Ravens offense going, driving in the first two runs of the game with a double and single. Kaelyn Fisher, Chloe Strickland and Megan Forsman also each drove in a run in the 5-0 win.

Game 2

While the first game belonged to a sophomore, it was a senior who stepped up on Senior Day to finish off the Ravens sweep. A pitcher's duel sent the game into extra innings before Fisher put the game to bed in the bottom of the ninth.

Rhiannon Martin reached first on a strike three wild pitch, setting the stage for Fisher. The senior was looking to advance Martin into scoring position, but Fisher turned on an inside pitch and hit a walk-off home run to give the Ravens a 2-0 win.

The Ravens got to the ninth inning with a chance to win thanks to a stellar outing by Bailey Selvage. The junior pitcher went all the way for the shutout win, improving to 11-8 on the season. Selvage struck out 7 batters and gave up just 3 hits.

The Ravens (26-16, 11-5 Heart) will play at Park University starting at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17.
